Hims & Hers Appoints Amazon Veteran as New COO Amid Rapid Growth and Weight Loss Drug Expansion

Telehealth company Hims & Hers Health has announced the appointment of Nader Kabbani as its new Chief Operations Officer, effective May 19. Kabbani, a former Amazon executive with nearly two decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise in scaling operations and launching innovative healthcare initiatives.
Amazon Veteran Takes the Helm
Kabbani's impressive resume includes leading the launch of Amazon Pharmacy and spearheading the acquisition of PillPack in 2018. During his tenure at Amazon, he also played a crucial role in developing operational frameworks for major offerings such as Amazon Logistics, Amazon Kindle, and Prime Video. Additionally, Kabbani headed Amazon's efforts to provide COVID-19 vaccines to its employees.
Andrew Dudum, CEO and founder of Hims & Hers, expressed confidence in Kabbani's ability to drive the company's future growth, stating, "Nader's experience scaling operations at the highest level makes him uniquely qualified to help us build the future of healthcare."
Strong Financial Performance and Expansion into Weight Loss Medications
The appointment comes on the heels of Hims & Hers' impressive first-quarter financial results. The company reported net income of $49.5 million, a significant increase from $11.1 million in the same period last year. Revenue also saw substantial growth, reaching $586 million compared to $278.2 million in the previous year.
Hims & Hers has recently navigated challenges and opportunities in the weight loss medication market. After initially considering discontinuing compounded versions of Novo Nordisk's GLP-1 medication Wegovy due to FDA regulations, the company subsequently announced a partnership with Novo Nordisk to offer the medication at a discounted price.
Leadership Transition and Future Outlook
Kabbani's appointment follows the transition of previous COO Melissa Baird to an advisory role. With his extensive experience in healthcare operations and e-commerce, Kabbani is well-positioned to help Hims & Hers continue its rapid growth and expansion in the telehealth sector, particularly in areas such as sexual health, mental health, and personal care.
