October 15, 2026: Xenetic Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: XBIO) announced first-patient dosing in an investigator-initiated clinical study of systemic recombinant human DNase combined with anti-CD19 CAR T-cell therapy for large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) at Tel Aviv Sourasky University Medical Center in Israel. The study, sponsored by the Ichilov Center and conducted with PeriNess Ltd., is the first clinical evaluation of Xenetic’s systemic DNase technology as an adjunct to CAR T-cell therapy.
The Israeli Ministry of Health and IRB approved the study in June 2026. It plans to enroll 12 LBCL patients with stable or progressive disease before lymphodepletion. Patients will receive a commercial anti-CD19 CAR T product (tisagenlecleucel, axicabtagene ciloleucel, or lisocabtagene maraleucel) plus DNase I at 1.0 mg/kg by 50 mL IV infusion on Days 0, 3, 6, 10, and 15 after CAR T infusion.
Endpoints include objective response rate at one and three months, duration of response, disease control rate, and overall survival at 12 months, plus biomarkers including circulating cell-free DNA, NET markers, and CAR T expansion/persistence. Initial efficacy data are expected in Q2 2027.
