Oct. 13, 2026: Wuhan Hiteck Biological Pharma (SZSE: 300683) licensed HT006.2.2, an investigational modified recombinant human nerve growth factor eye drop for neurotrophic keratitis, to Visara, a majority-owned ophthalmology subsidiary of NovaBridge Biosciences (NASDAQ: NBP), for exclusive worldwide development and commercialization rights outside Greater China; Hiteck retains Greater China rights. Visara plans to develop the program as VIS-102.
The deal includes an upfront payment, potential development, regulatory and commercial milestones, and tiered royalties; a joint steering committee will oversee R&D, technology transfer, and the global development plan.
Clinical update: in a Phase 1b study in Chinese patients with severe neurotrophic keratitis, 50% of subjects in the highest-dose cohort achieved complete corneal healing after a single 8-week course, versus 14% in the vehicle control group at Week 4. Vehicle patients then crossed over to active treatment from Weeks 5-8, and 43% achieved complete corneal healing after 4 weeks of HT006.2.2. Treatment-related ocular adverse events were mild, consistent with rhNGF trials, and no patients discontinued due to related adverse events.
Upcoming catalyst: the Phase 1b study will continue with an expansion phase testing the highest dose on 8-week regimens dosed 6 times daily and 3 times daily in Chinese patients with neurotrophic keratitis.
