Oct. 5, 2026: Anixa Biosciences (NASDAQ: ANIX) reported an update from its ongoing Phase 1 dose-escalation trial of liraltagene autoleucel (lira-cel), an FSHR-targeted CAR-T therapy, in recurrent ovarian cancer. The company said the first patient in the current fifth dose cohort achieved stable disease 90 days after treatment, described as the first such response seen in the trial.

The patient received 1×10⁷ CAR-positive cells/kg after lymphodepletion, the highest dose tested so far. Anixa said no dose-limiting toxicities have been observed in any patients to date. It also reported that multiple patients have survived more than one year after treatment, including one patient beyond two years, while correlative studies on the presence and durability of CAR-positive cells are ongoing.

The Phase 1 study (NCT05316129), conducted at Moffitt Cancer Center, is enrolling adult women with recurrent ovarian cancer who progressed after at least two prior therapies and is designed to assess safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy across escalating dose levels.
