October 7, 2026: Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ: LABT) reported positive preclinical data for its Bisphosphocin compounds in urinary tract and pulmonary infection models. In a rodent UTI model, intravesical Nu-8 achieved up to 97% inhibition of E. coli growth at a 10% solution versus no effect in vehicle controls. The Bisphosphocin class also showed in vitro activity against resistant UTI pathogens including E. coli, K. pneumoniae, and P. aeruginosa, and against biofilm-forming organisms.

For pulmonary infections, aerosolized Bisphosphocin compounds demonstrated in vivo activity in animal models involving Acinetobacter species, P. aeruginosa, and A. fumigatus, and in vitro activity against H. influenzae, K. pneumoniae, and P. aeruginosa. The company framed these programs around drug-resistant infections including CAUTI, CABP, HABP, VABP, and infections associated with cystic fibrosis.

Separately, the company said its lead candidate Nu-3, formulated as a topical gel, is in an ongoing Phase 2a trial in mildly infected diabetic foot ulcers, with topline data expected in the first quarter of 2027.
